Tiffany & Co. presents Skate at Somerset House

I went to somerset house for Tiffany, ha

I was saw the video from the somerset house's website,

and i want to have the tiffany cup cake!!

Tiffany & Co. is the sponsors for ice rink in somerset house this year,

they provide lovly cupcake and coffee cup in the skate cafe & bar ,

which are made in Tiffany blue. And that is the good reason to attract the people like me(vanity?) to there just for taking picture.

Tiffany also build a Tiffany tuck shop and it is a big Tiffany gift box.

i think that represent all the joy that people can got went they got the box.

also , a Tiffany christmas tree.

Assessment

I had a assessment today, first we doing the assessment feedback for each other and i got merit.
After that we got a self formative assessment sheet and wait for the tutor give us feedback.

In my development plan, i have to comare my work with professional work and make more experiments also improve the pdf(it too "brown").

anyway, christmas is coming!!

VCT essay

Well, I need to write an essay for 1500 words, i know..a lot : (
Anyway, my essay is about analyze the design of Louis Vuitton Japan catalog 2008 for understand the advertising appeal.

And those images are made by a Japanese designer Naisko Seki.

For this essay, i read some books to surpport my idea

Its, really a tough work for my to write the essay and read thoes books, if i could do this in my language, it will be much easyer, haha

The Uniform Project

This is an project about wearing same dress everyday and try to mach
with different outfit and share on her blog, she also become a media that encourage people make donation for Akanksha Foundation for the education of underprivileged children in India.

Turner Prize

The Turner Prize is a contemporary art award that was set up in 1984 to celebrate new developments in contemporary art.
The prize is awarded each year to 'a British artist under fifty for an outstanding exhibition or other presentation of their work in the twelve months preceding'.

Today we when to tate britain for the Turner Prize exhibition, the four artists nominated for Turner Prize 2009 are Enrico David, Roger Hiorns, Lucy Skaer and Richard Wright.

In those artists, i prefer Richard Wright, i like his idea of wallpaper.

3D workshop

We got a 3D workshop today, basically we need to created something that

can communicate with people, and tell a story.

We got a shirt that can cover all your cloth make sure you wont dirty y0ur nice cloth when you are doing some painting job. Also we got a children toilet, a toilet plunger, and some plastic food toys.

The first sculpture we made is a "loo", my partnet wear that protect shirt and sit in the toilet holding the kids toilet. we also made a short film.

The second one we made is a hang over people, we lie the cotton shirt one the floor and made a pose looks like some one hold the toilet and vomiting. We also spray some stuff near him make him looks really drank.

SAATCHI GALLERY

This time i when to saatchi gallery, which is a free entry gallery.
And there are some work that i really nice.

The "Old Persons Home" by Sun Yuan and Peng Yu.
13 life size sculptures and 13 dynamoelectric wheelchairs.

I goona say that is the most creeping work i have every see before, the sclptures is really alive and they move it very slow. It make me think of some scare movie, they just quiet and close to you while you were doing other things.

Another work that i like is "Conitnent" by Jacob Hashimoto.

And "Nine" by Guerra De La Paz.

VCT - cut and paste workshop

In this workshop, I try to work out with the title “handmade” these two words.
The concept I want to present is: a good design is basic on satisfy human desire.
Therefore, I used the image of car to combine with the title and try to make a nice image. Also try to make the car personification to support the idea.

I used lots of football player’s foot to replace the tires, shows the speed. Also make a face for the car to make it personification. In addition, I make a monkey driver and cover its eyes with text “we make it better”. The reason I use monkey is that I think, if we can saw things with different vision, than we can really see a foot ball team carrying the car, just like to make a car need lots of people and their hands.
All the functions of car are satisfying people’s desire.

By using the title handmade to shows it’s not an easy thing to make a good design. Also the impression of car is opposite to handmade; it is interesting to put those contrasting feeling together and catch people’s eye.

Typography workshop

In this workshop, we need to choose a typeface that can relects about our personality. And than we draw a baseline and trace our name.

I was using "Helvetica".


The secound activty we done is that we choose the part that interset us from a letter, after that we need to using our way
to show how that part different in various typeface and fonts.



I am using the letter "R" to start my work, and I like the leg of the letter R, it is curvy and romantic. I try to use the shape to mak a image, outline the Bodoni R and make a text image.


In this workshop we were force to using our hand to trace each letter not like the easy way just type it on.
Therefor, we can know the different between each typeface and we got more time to think and understand a typeface.

Anish Kapoor

I when to Royal Academy of Arts today,
Anish Kapoor has an exhibition untill December.
It says Anish Kapoor is internationally regarded as one of the most influential and pioneering
sculptors of his generation.

I try to understand his work during the time, because all his works are so amazing.
And i think the most interesting one is the "shooting into the corner" , the cannon is fired at twenty-minute intervals from the Large Weston Room through a doorway into the Small Westion Room.



Another work that I like is "Svayambh", a vast block of red wax moves very slowly, along tracks. Squeezing itself through the classical doorways repeats its insistent journey.
