First day

Well, today is my first day for internship. I am so nervous about it, but the good things is that my friend was there doing some work today, so i am not alone.

I arrive there 9 in the morning and one of my colleague show me around the office and tell me some rules. After that the design director told me about what i have to in this period.

She wants me to design the corporate identity of a new villa/ restaurant.

Therefor the job today are doing research.

Its an small design company, but doing lots big projects. There are 8 peoples and one dogs in the office. I think i can lean a lot.

Yayoi Kusama's big pumpkin

Everyone knows Yayoi Kusama and her works.

Lest year, i went to an exhibition in the Hayward Gallery, London.

The exhibition "Walking in my mind" by 10 international artist including Yayoi Kusama.

That is the first time I have changes to face her work, and loved them more.

Few days ago, I read a news from internet and i know about that, the PABP (Pingtung Agricultural Biotechnology Park )has bought a art work from Yayoi Kusama.

Its a big Pumpkin and represent the idea of PABP's work and her wish on it.

And the lucky thing is , the PABP is not far from my home and I really want to meet this

lovely pumpkin. Therefore, we when there immediately, and its raining outside.

I think is rain for many days and the pumpkin just here for few weeks, so not many people know about this news. Its a pity that not a lot of people know this work is here, hope there will be more people care about this place and this art work.

Insider project

Cozue Takagi is a famous photographer, she was the grand prize winner of Canon 2006 " New Cosmos of Photographer" and "Epson Color Imaging Contest". She is good are the Photo collage on her works for example the work "insider".

She took a photo on a person's face and use the Photo collage to cut the face as 2 parts, and use each side to make a new face, after that she got 2 different face. We can tell that is 2 different face but also can feel the similar, that shows every person has another personalty inside your body.

I was very interested on this work and i would like to meet another me, so i try to use my photo and make a similar work.

The first line is original me, second line is insider project!!

Will, I think its really cool and I not sure which one I like most!!

太古 TAIKOO bar

This is a bar in Taiwan, the owner decorated the old house and make it become a nice bar. Also keep the 30's style and mix with modern style.

I when to this bar with my friend and i like the feeling in the bar, also happy to see so many people still love and respect the traditional culture in Taiwan.

I got the reply from an design studio about my work placement.

The design director: Fang, she said i am very welcome to have a work placement in their

company. There for , I am going to do my internship in Jetkey Interactive Studio for 3 weeks which stared form 02/08.

Its an Interactive Studio, most of businesses are web design. I think I may learn more about web design and the process. I was review some work they did before, most of them are very big project such as make the website for government agencies, museums...etc.

Anyway, hope I can have a very nice experience during the summer.

New portfolio

Since I decided to do my work placement at Taiwan, I know I need to make a new portfolio.

The reason that i have to make a new one is my old one is not looking good and i have to use Chines on it.

This version are made with a new system and change some important detail that tutor told me.

I did send it to some design company, hope can get the response soon.

Actually, its one of the amazing work of Alexa Meade.

Alexa Meade is a 23-year-old artist based in Washington, DC, and she

draw the acrylic directly on the people and make them looks like a painting!!

Those work are really amazing me at the first time i saw it.
